It's not just about a crown and/or a title...
It seems like every week I am asked to compete for or offered a new title in a different system. I am not pointing this out in any type of "I am just so darned fabulous" kind of way. Those who know me know that I am self deprecating to a fault! If I can get a laugh from it I will happily throw myself under the bus! I say it to illustrate a point. Along with the truly kind offer comes a statement much like "Why kill yourself to compete for a title as difficult to win as Mrs. International? It's the hardest Mrs. to win, you know?" I find this a very easy question to answer. For me it's not about collecting crowns, sashes or titles. It's about being the best that I can be and offering the biggest most ethically driven voice I can offer to my causes. Holding a title with the one incredible word that says and does it all, International, behind it is what does this for me. I found my purpose when I was blessed with their Mrs. Nevada International 2012 title and am thrilled to be able to continue to work with and for them with my new Mrs. Southwest International 2013 title. The International system drives me to be better than I have ever been, not just as a competitor, but as a person. It drives me to give to others more than I've ever given. It gives me cause and purpose. It completes me as a titleholder. It may have taken me most of my life to find them, but now that I have I am here to stay...even after my competition days are behind me. So I thank you all for your kind, humbling and wonderful offers to hold titles with you or within your systems, but I am home and this is where I am staying! For the first time I am beyond thrilled to sign off as YOUR new Mrs. Southwest International 2013! Have a blessed day!
