New definitions...

Webster's Dictionary defines the word "challenge" as follows:

1. a call or summons to engage in any contest, as of skill, strength, etc.

2. something that by its nature or character serves as a call to battle, contest, special effort, etc.: Space exploration offers a challenge to humankind.

3. a call to fight, as a battle, a duel, etc.

4. a demand to explain, justify, etc.: a challenge to the treasurer to itemize expenditures.

5. difficulty in a job or undertaking that is stimulating to one engaged in it.

 

I define the word challenge much more simply.  Challenge = Opportunity.

 

Each day we wake we face our own challenges, whether they are related to family, career, community service...even something as simple as finding the time to clean your closet (my dirty little secret!).  Take each of these challenges, turn them around and re-name them.  They are no longer the negative, challenge, they are now the positive, opportunity.  You have the opportunity to create a better relationship, the opportunity to excel at your profession, the opportunity to actually be able to walk into your walk-in closet, etc.!  

 

So now I "challenge" each of you...today re-think and re-name...there are no challenges, there are only opportunities!!!
