A moment of realization...

These past several days have been wrought with Murphy's Law and boy how!!!  From falling down onto all fours on a VERY hard cement sidewalk, losing my brand new coffee that I had just waited in line for 20 minutes to get (talk about adding insult to injury!) to my computer crashing, my Ipod being stolen and now my car attempting suicide it has just been one of the those weeks.  Through all of it, however, I have been able to remain calm.  Why?  Aside from the fact that I have had five appearances on behalf of charities and attended board meetings for the two that are nearest and dearest to my heart, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Heart Association (no pun intended!) I had the remainder of an epiphany that began forming long ago come clearly into the light.  This isn't about me.  None of what I do has anything to do with me or my needs.  I serve because I must.  I must reach out to help those who cannot help themselves, speak for those without a voice, work for those who are bed-ridden.  It is who I have become as I've grown older and wiser.  So as these things are happening to me I don't say, "Why me?", I say thank you Lord for furthering my lesson in humility and allowing me to understand.  And then I laugh at the happenings, because let's face it, if I don't I just might cry!  Have a blessed day!!!  ;-)
