Reader's Digest was right!

This past Friday I was honored to attend the Las Vegas Go Red for Women Luncheon!  As someone who has dealt with a thankfully benign heart condition for many years I am pretty well versed in the do's and don'ts!  Get plenty of rest, avoid stress, eat a diet low in fat, cholesterol and salt and get regular exercise.  I learned, however, that Reader's Digest has had it right all of these years that they've been telling us that Laughter is the Best Medicine!  There is actual scientific data from a study done on test groups that were given various television shows and movies to watch.  Their blood pressure, etc was taken before the viewing and after.  Those who were given things like Saving Private Ryan to view reported far worse vitals than their before numbers and those watching movies such as There's Something About Mary reported significantly improved numbers!  So there you have it!  Not only does it take fewer muscles to smile than it does to frown, you just may be laughing yourself into a longer, healthier life!
