Hey over-achievers...give yourself a break!

Today I had several plans.  I was supposed to have to get to the gym early, go home to do full make-up and hair, do a video shoot, etc.  The shoot was postponed at the last minute leaving me with literally nothing on my agenda for the day.  My first thought was to grab the phone and start setting up some alternate plans.  I then jumped on the computer instead and began to catch up on some correspondence.  Before I knew it a few hours had passed and I was doing nothing more than playing silly games.  I began to get antsy that I really hadn't achieved anything when I decided that I needed to give myself a break!  As with most of us who "suffer" with the "Gotta do more, gotta be more" syndrome I very rarely allow the batteries to re-charge.  Today I really realized that this foreign concept of relaxing is, in fact, necessary...who knew?  Without a day at least every now and then we are doing not only ourselves a disservice but we are not fully able to help those around us.  We need time to reflect and regroup.  Sounds pretty elementary, doesn't it?  However for people like me it's about as complicated as it gets!  We thrive on insane schedules and are never happier than when we are at a full run!  So today I did nothing!  Ok, that's a fib, I did work-out but I did it in my home gym (I do have Mrs. International coming up after all!)!  So give yourself a break and do nothing, or at least next to nothing, every once in a while...you'll crawl out of your skin, but you will be better for it!  Have a great weekend!
